Mark Pinn is a seasoned entrepreneur with a diverse background in IT project management, business and community development. After a successful career at Merrill Lynch, Mark transitioned into operating an IT Project Management consulting business for 15 years. His project management and business operations expertise laid a solid foundation for his entrepreneurial ventures.

In 2002, Mark and his wife Katrina Parris embarked on their first entrepreneurial endeavor by launching Katrina Parris Flowers in Harlem. This business quickly became a staple in the community, catering to both local needs and high-end clientele for events such as weddings and galas. Their clientele included renowned names like Bad Boy Records and Swarovski Crystals, showcasing their ability to deliver quality service to a diverse range of customers.

Following the success of Katrina Parris Flowers, Mark and Katrina identified another opportunity to contribute to their community. They founded NiLu Gift Shop with the aim of meeting the needs of Harlem residents while supporting local makers and artists. Through NiLu, they aimed to preserve Harlem’s rich cultural heritage while addressing the absence of gift shops above 96th street.

Mark’s educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts degree in Management Information Systems from Norfolk State University and professional certifications. Alongside his wife Katrina, they not only run their business in Harlem but also raise their two sons, Luke and Nigel, within the Harlem community.
