We’re excited to invite you to the “We’re Outside 2024 Art Exhibit,” hosted by the Mount Morris Park Community Improvement Association (MMPCIA) and Heath Gallery. Join us on August 24th from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Northwest Lawn of Marcus Garvey Park for this free event. This pop-up exhibit will showcase the incredible talent of 15 local Harlem-based artists, offering a diverse range of artistic expressions.
This exhibit is a celebration of Harlem’s rich artistic heritage, curated by Saundra Alexis Heath. Our participating artists represent a variety of media, including painting, fiber arts, mixed media, and abstract art. The artists range from emerging talents to seasoned professionals with over 40 years of experience.

Four artists are returning from last year’s exhibition: Larry Bentley, Thomas Heath, Debbie Taylor-Kerman, and Fitgi Saint-Louis. We are proud to highlight MMPCIA members Debora Clark Fairfax and Thomas Heath, whose works are integral to the vibrant artistic community of Harlem.
The exhibit is held in partnership with Harlem Grown’s Culture, Creativity, and Care Initiative, the Mellon Foundation, NYC Parks, and the City Park Foundation’s Charlie Parker Jazz Festival. This event is a testament to MMPCIA’s dedication to cultural preservation and community engagement.
